Robert J. Smith has been practicing veterinary medicine for over fifty years. At a very early age, Robert developed a love for animals. In fact, he made up his mind to pursue a career as a veterinarian when he was in the 6th grade!
A graduate of the University of Georgia, Magna Cum Laude, Dr. Smith began a practice in Virginia at Winchester Animal Hospital. After several years, he decided to move to a warmer climate in Florida, where he’s been ever since. He had his own practice at Palms West Veterinary Hospital for over thirty years. Then, in 2007, he joined forces with the Palm Beach Equine Clinic, located in Wellington, Florida. Wellington is known as the Winter Equestrian Capital of the World.. During the season from January to April, equine enthusiasts travel from all over the world to Wellington to enjoy the many equine programs.

The biggest hunter and jumper shows in the country are held at the World Equestrian Festival located in Wellington. The Adequan Global Dressage Festival, the International Polo Games, and the International Polo Museum are located there as well.
The Palm Beach Equine Clinic is one of the best equestrian hospitals in the country. There are six board-certified surgeons, three equine acupuncturists, two equine chiropractors, two board-certified internal medicine specialists, two theriogenologists, one board-certified radiologist with a state-of-the-art imaging department, and even an equine podiatrist. There are 256 horse stalls on a 45-acre establishment, which also includes a 1500-yard exercise track, along with many equine treadmills.

As early as 1980, Dr. Smith began working in the specialized area of advanced reproduction in horses. For over 40 years, he has specialized in the science of theriogenology. This includes breeding, soundness evaluation, infertility diagnosis and treatment, artificial insemination, collecting stallion semen for storage and shipping, embryo transfer, and embryo cryogenic preservation.
In 2023, Dr. Smith was introduced to Immunotec, a company specializing in intracellular Glutathione science. He became very excited about the significant number of published studies showing the benefits of raising Glutathione in horses, dogs, cats, and other animals. Their flagship product, Immunocal (a Glutathione precursor), is clinically proven to optimize Glutathione in both humans and animals. Early clinical studies conducted with animals using Immunocal showed a 30% to 50% longer lifespan. This is certainly a motivator for people who love their pets!

Initially, Dr. Smith began using glutathione precursors himself, and before long, his high blood pressure normalized, allowing him to discontinue his blood pressure medication. This motivated him to start using it on his animal patients.
In his practice, Dr. Smith began using Glutathione enhancement in stallions, which resulted in increased sperm count and quality. He also started using Glutathione therapy in dogs that were afflicted with cancer and began to have great success.

At the Justin Bartlett Animal Hospital in Royal Palm Beach, he started using it on puppies with the Parvo virus, which not only stopped the progression of the disease but also helped them recover rapidly. He recommends it to pet owners who have arthritis and allergies, and is now beginning to recommend Immunocal to owners of performance horses.
Clinical research indicates that Glutathione enhances muscle growth, recovery, and performance within a short period when it is upregulated. These horses are carrying a weight of 1500 to 1800 pounds, and Glutathione enhancement will give them an edge in their competition.

Dr. Smith plans to continue educating his clients about the benefits of Glutathione, and he continues to see outstanding results with an increasing number of his animal patients. He is very enthused about the continuing stories coming back to him from the owners of the different animals he treated, and welcomes anyone who wants to contact him about this new type of therapy.
